Arborist

Certified arborist consultations and written reports.

When you need more than a crew with a chainsaw — an HOA dispute, an insurance claim, a pre-construction tree survey, a second opinion on whether a tree needs to come down — you need an ISA-certified arborist with a pen. We write defensible reports with photos, measurements, and recommendations that hold up in front of HOA boards, insurance adjusters, and city inspectors.

What do homeowners ask about Arborist?

What is an ISA-certified arborist?

International Society of Arboriculture certification. An arborist has to pass an exam on tree biology, soil science, diagnosis, pruning, and safety, plus maintain continuing education. Not every "tree guy" is a certified arborist — ask for the ISA cert number if someone claims to be one. It's searchable at isa-arbor.com.

When do I need a written report vs. a verbal opinion?

Verbal opinions are fine when you're deciding what to do. Written reports are required when a third party needs convincing: HOA board, insurance carrier, city planner, judge, opposing neighbor. A verbal recommendation won't hold up in any dispute.

Can you assess a tree to keep an HOA from removing it?

Yes. Many HOA removal demands are based on incomplete information or misreadings of risk. A proper tree risk assessment often shows a tree is structurally sound and can be preserved with pruning. We write the report, and you present it to the board. We've swayed plenty of HOAs in Rancho Santa Fe, Carmel Valley, and 4S Ranch.

How much does an arborist report cost?

A basic risk assessment and letter runs $250 to $450. A full written report with photos, measurements, and recommendations runs $450 to $1,200 depending on the number of trees and complexity. Court-level expert witness reports are quoted separately.

Homeowners who hired us for this

A eucalyptus limb came down on our fence during the first Santa Ana of the season. Branch Pro had a crew out within two hours, chipped and hauled everything, and the quote matched what they said on the phone. No surprise charges.

Melissa R. Emergency Tree Removal · Carlsbad

Needed Zone 1 compliance before our insurance renewal. They walked the property, flagged the dead oak branches and the overgrown chaparral, and had it all cleared in a day. Insurance signed off first look. Exactly what I was hoping for.

David K. Defensible Space Clearing · El Cajon

Three queen palms and a Mexican fan that hadn't been touched in years. Crew climbed the fans instead of using a lift, left everything clean, and explained exactly how often each species needs servicing. Fair price, no upsell.
